The Srijan Humanoid-1 is designed specifically for the Indian manufacturing ecosystem, capable of performing repetitive tasks such as assembly line operations, quality inspection, and logistics handling.

Unlike imported counterparts that often cost upwards of $50,000, the Srijan Humanoid-1 is priced competitively at approximately $15,000, making it accessible for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across India. This pricing strategy aligns with the government's push for affordable automation solutions under the Make in India initiative. The robot is expected to be available for order through authorized distributors in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai by January 2025.

Technical Specifications and AI Integration

Developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, the robot features a 12-degree-of-freedom arm and advanced computer vision systems powered by custom AI algorithms. The prototype utilizes a lithium-ion battery pack allowing for an 8-hour operational window, a critical factor for Indian shift-based manufacturing units. Srijan Robotics claims the system can handle payloads up to 15 kilograms, suitable for automotive and electronics assembly lines.

Impact on Indian Manufacturing

Industry experts view this launch as a turning point for the domestic robotics industry. The robot's localization features support regional languages, allowing operators to interact with the system in Hindi, Tamil, and Bengali. Srijan Robotics plans to begin beta testing with three major textile manufacturers in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu by December 2024.
