The Vayu-H1 is designed specifically for commercial deployment in Indian manufacturing, logistics, and retail environments. The company positioned the robot as a cost-effective alternative to imported humanoid systems, emphasizing localized supply chains and regulatory compliance.

Technical Specifications and Capabilities

The Vayu-H1 stands at 1.68 meters tall and weighs 62 kilograms. It features a custom silicon motor actuator system, a 3D LiDAR and stereo vision navigation suite, and a 7-degree-of-freedom manipulator arm capable of 40 newton-meters of torque. The unit runs on VayuOS, a Linux-based operating system optimized for real-time task scheduling. According to the launch documentation, the robot can operate for six hours on a single charge and supports both teleoperation and fully autonomous navigation through SLAM mapping.

Pricing and India Market Relevance

Vayu Robotics announced a base price of ₹15.5 lakhs for the Vayu-H1, significantly undercutting comparable international models that typically exceed ₹40 lakhs in the domestic market. The company plans to manufacture the first 500 units at its facility in Hinjewadi, Pune, and has partnered with local component suppliers to ensure over seventy percent indigenous sourcing. Initial deployments will focus on automotive parts warehouses in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, with pilot programs scheduled to begin in January 2025. Enterprise leasing options start at ₹85,000 per month, including maintenance and software updates.

Industry Deployment and Future Roadmap

Early adopters include three mid-sized logistics firms and a state-owned warehousing cooperative. Vayu Robotics confirmed that the robot's software stack supports multi-language voice commands in Hindi, Tamil, and English, catering to India's diverse industrial workforce. The startup outlined a two-year roadmap that includes a lightweight Vayu-H2 variant for retail customer service and the integration of AI-driven predictive maintenance modules. Commercial availability for the general market will open through authorized distributors across Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai by mid-2025.
