Lead investors include Blume Ventures and SoftBank Robotics Fund, with participation from strategic corporate backers focused on deep tech and advanced manufacturing.

Product Specifications and Pricing

The Vayu-1 stands at 1.7 meters tall and features a 28-degree-of-freedom articulated body, force-torque sensors in all joints, and a localized AI navigation stack. Designed for heavy-duty tasks, the robot supports a 20-kilogram payload and operates for up to eight hours on a single charge. Aetheria has positioned the Vayu-1 as a direct alternative to imported counterparts, with a base price of ₹25 lakhs (approximately $30,000), making it accessible to Indian small and medium enterprises.

Market Strategy and Industrial Applications

India’s manufacturing and logistics sectors face acute labor shortages and rising operational costs. Aetheria plans to deploy the Vayu-1 in automotive assembly lines, warehouse picking, and hazardous material handling. The company has already secured pilot contracts with three major automotive suppliers in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. By leveraging India’s growing component ecosystem, Aetheria aims to reduce production costs by 40 percent compared to European and Japanese competitors.

Regulatory Alignment and Future Roadmap

The funding comes as the Indian government expands the Production Linked Incentive scheme to include advanced robotics and automation. Aetheria will utilize the capital to establish a final assembly facility in Hosur, Karnataka, and expand its software team to refine human-robot collaboration algorithms.
