Humanoid Robotics India Expo 2024 Unveils Next-Gen Platforms in Bengaluru - RobotWale News
Inaugural Expo Draws Global Manufacturers to Bengaluru
The Humanoid Robotics India Expo 2024 took place from October 15 to 17 at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre, marking the first dedicated trade show for bipedal AI robots in South Asia. Organized by the Robotics Society of India in partnership with the Department of Heavy Industry, the event attracted over 45,000 visitors and featured forty-two exhibiting companies from China, Japan, the United States, and India. The expo opened with keynote addresses from industry leaders discussing supply chain localization, safety certification frameworks, and the commercialization of general-purpose humanoid platforms.
Product Launches and Commercial Pricing Announced
Several high-profile product debuts defined the three-day event. Chinese manufacturer Agibot unveiled the H1-Gen2, a 1.8-meter bipedal robot designed for warehouse logistics, with an introductory India pricing tier of ₹18.5 lakh for fleet deployments exceeding fifty units. Unitree Robotics demonstrated the Go2 Pro humanoid variant, highlighting updated torque-dense actuators and a 12-hour battery life, priced at ₹22 lakh for Indian educational institutions and research labs. Domestic startup Sarvatra Robotics launched the Vyom-3, a cost-optimized humanoid tailored for small and medium enterprises, with a base price of ₹9.75 lakh for domestic assembly kits and ₹14.2 lakh for turnkey solutions.
India Manufacturing Partnerships and Safety Standards
A central theme of the expo was the establishment of a local humanoid supply chain. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) announced a new production-linked incentive scheme specifically targeting humanoid robot actuators, sensors, and AI edge processors. Under the program, manufacturers establishing assembly lines in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Gujarat can receive subsidies covering up to 25 percent of capital expenditure. The expo also hosted the launch of the Indian Humanoid Safety Certification framework, developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards in collaboration with international testing bodies. The certification mandates fall-detection protocols, emergency stop redundancies, and AI behavior logging for all commercial deployments.
Industry Outlook and Future Exhibitions
Delegates reported strong interest from automotive, logistics, and healthcare sectors, with preliminary offtake agreements totaling over ₹400 crore across the expo floor. The Robotics Society of India confirmed that the 2025 edition will expand to New Delhi and Mumbai, with a dedicated pavilion for collaborative humanoid arms and mobile manipulation systems. Registration for the next cycle opens in January 2025, with early-bird exhibitor slots available through the official portal.
