Unitree Robotics Announces G1 Humanoid Robot Pricing and Indian Distribution Partnership - RobotWale News
Commercial Pricing and Technical Specifications
On October 14, 2024, Shenzhen-based robotics company Unitree Robotics officially announced the commercial pricing and technical specifications for its G1 humanoid robot. The company revealed that the entry-level G1 will be priced at approximately $9,500, while the advanced G1 Pro version will retail for $16,500. The robot stands 1.27 meters tall and weighs 47 kilograms, featuring a custom-designed torque-controlled joint system that enables dynamic movements such as running, jumping, and rapid recovery from external pushes. Unitree emphasized that the pricing strategy is designed to accelerate adoption across educational, research, and light manufacturing sectors globally.
Indian Market Entry and Assembly
In a move targeting South Asian industrial growth, Unitree has signed a memorandum of understanding with Mumbai-based logistics and technology firm LogisticsAI to establish a regional assembly and training facility in Pune. The partnership will localize final assembly operations, reducing import duties and lowering the effective market price to roughly ₹14.8 lakh for the base model and ₹25.6 lakh for the Pro variant. The Pune facility will also host a certified training program for Indian engineers, focusing on robot maintenance, software integration, and industrial deployment. LogisticsAI plans to deploy the G1 units in warehouse automation and last-mile delivery testing by early 2025.
Industry Implications
The announcement marks a significant shift in the global humanoid robot market, as aggressive pricing forces competitors to reassess their cost structures. Indian manufacturing and logistics sectors are expected to benefit from lower hardware barriers, enabling pilot programs in factories and distribution centers. Industry analysts note that the Pune assembly hub could position India as a key node in the Asian humanoid supply chain, particularly for software development and system integration. Unitree will begin shipping the G1 to Indian partners in November 2024, with full commercial availability expected by Q1 2025.
