Product Launch and Pricing

Alongside the funding announcement, NexaBots unveiled the Atlas-X1, a general-purpose humanoid robot designed for warehouse automation and assembly line assistance. The robot stands 1.7 meters tall, weighs 85 kilograms, and features a custom-designed series-elastic actuator system alongside a proprietary vision-language model for task planning. NexaBots has priced the Atlas-X1 at approximately ₹22 lakh ($26,000), positioning it as one of the most affordable industrial humanoid robots in the market. The company plans to offer the robot on a Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model starting at ₹1.8 lakh per month for fleet deployments.

India Market Relevance and Deployment Strategy

The launch directly targets India’s growing demand for scalable automation amid rising labor costs and the government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for advanced electronics manufacturing. NexaBots has secured pilot agreements with three major Indian logistics firms and two automotive component manufacturers in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The startup aims to produce 500 units annually by Q3 2025 through a new assembly facility in Hosur, Karnataka, which will also house a component manufacturing unit for actuators and sensors to reduce import dependency.

Industry Context and Next Steps

The funding comes amid a broader wave of capital flowing into India’s robotics sector, with humanoid and collaborative robot startups collectively raising over $120 million in the past twelve months. NexaBots’ co-founder and CEO, Arjun Mehta, stated that the company will prioritize safety certifications from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and expand its AI training datasets to better handle India’s diverse industrial environments. Commercial deliveries of the Atlas-X1 are scheduled to begin in January 2025, with full-scale production ramp-up targeted for mid-2026.
