Unitree Robotics Launches G1 Pro Humanoid Platform, Secures Indian Distribution Deal - RobotWale News

Launch Details and Specifications

Unitree Robotics officially unveiled the G1 Pro humanoid robot on October 15, 2024, marking a significant step in commercial-grade bipedal automation. The new platform features upgraded series elastic actuators delivering 400 newton-meters of peak torque per leg, enabling faster walking speeds and improved load-bearing capacity. Integrated 3D LiDAR and stereo vision sensors feed into an onboard edge computing module, allowing real-time environment mapping and autonomous navigation in unstructured industrial spaces.

Indian Market Entry and Pricing

Following the global reveal, the company announced a formal distribution agreement with Mumbai-based industrial automation firm LogiBot Systems. The partnership will enable localized assembly, calibration, and after-sales support across India manufacturing and logistics hubs. Enterprise customers in India can now secure the G1 Pro at a fixed price of ₹28.5 lakh per unit, inclusive of initial software licensing and three years of maintenance. Bulk procurement tiers for automotive and electronics assembly lines are expected to reduce per-unit costs by an additional 12 percent.

Technical Architecture and AI Integration

The G1 Pro operates on a modular software stack built around ROS 2, with custom reinforcement learning models trained on synthetic industrial datasets. The robot 43 degrees of freedom allow precise wrist articulation and adaptive grip force, critical for handling diverse SKU geometries in e-commerce fulfillment centers. An upgraded 800-watt-hour solid-state battery supports up to six hours of continuous operation, with a hot-swappable design that minimizes downtime. Unitree has also opened its SDK to Indian software partners, enabling custom task scripting without proprietary lock-in.

Supply Chain and Local Manufacturing

LogiBot Systems will handle final integration at a new facility in Chennai, leveraging India growing precision manufacturing base for structural components and wiring harnesses. Core actuators and vision modules remain imported, but the company projects that localized sourcing will reach 45 percent within 18 months. Indian engineering graduates will be trained through a certified technician program, addressing the skilled labor gap in advanced robotics maintenance. The rollout aligns with the Indian government PLI scheme for advanced hardware, which may offer additional subsidies to early adopters in the automotive and consumer electronics sectors.
