The Astra-H1 stands at 170 centimeters tall and weighs 68 kilograms, featuring a lightweight carbon-fiber skeletal frame and high-torque joint actuators capable of supporting up to 25 kilograms of payload. Powered by a custom-developed edge AI processor, the robot utilizes real-time computer vision and force-feedback sensors to navigate complex factory floors safely alongside human workers. Astra Robotics has integrated a modular software stack that supports Python-based API access, enabling seamless integration with existing ERP and warehouse management systems. Strategic Pricing and Domestic Manufacturing Focus

Highlighting its commitment to accessibility, Astra Robotics priced the Astra-H1 at INR 14.5 lakhs (approximately USD 17,500) for early enterprise adopters. This pricing strategy deliberately undercuts competing Western and East Asian humanoid platforms, which typically range between USD 80,000 and USD 150,000. The company plans to manufacture 80 percent of the robot’s components domestically, leveraging India’s growing semiconductor and precision engineering supply chains. Initial production will take place at Astra’s new facility in Tamil Nadu, with a target of 500 units deployed across automotive, electronics assembly, and e-commerce fulfillment centers by Q2 2025.

Industry Adoption and Future Roadmap

Early adopters include Tata Advanced Systems and Flipkart Supply Chain, both of which have already committed to pilot deployments in their Pune and Hyderabad operations. Astra Robotics has also partnered with IIT Madras to develop specialized vocational training modules for Indian technicians managing humanoid fleets.
