The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Robotics Society of India, has officially announced "Humanoids India 2025," the country's first dedicated expo for humanoid robotics. The event is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru from October 12-14, 2025. RobotWale has been appointed as the exclusive media partner to cover the proceedings. This landmark exhibition aims to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial deployment, positioning India as a central node in the global humanoid economy.

Focus on Indigenous Manufacturing and Affordability

A primary objective of the expo is to accelerate the "Make in India" initiative within the humanoid sector. The roadmap emphasizes reducing dependency on imports by fostering domestic supply chains. Industry stakeholders expect the government to announce targeted subsidies for manufacturers who meet specific localization criteria. The strategic goal is to drive the cost of entry-level humanoid robots below ₹50 Lakhs ($60,000) by 2026, making them viable for labor-intensive Indian industries such as textiles, logistics, and healthcare.

Key Segments and Expected Exhibitors

The expo will feature live demonstrations of bipedal and quadrupedal systems across industrial, service, and research categories. Confirmed exhibitors include global leaders like Tesla and Figure AI, alongside top Indian startups such as GreyOrange and Botlab AI. These domestic firms are expected to showcase prototypes specifically engineered for Indian infrastructure challenges, including variable terrain navigation and multilingual voice interaction. The event will also host a "National Humanoid Robotics Framework" summit, where policy makers and CTOs will discuss safety standards and interoperability protocols.

Registration and Deadlines

Registration for attendees and exhibitors opens on January 15, 2025. Early bird pricing for general admission is set at ₹5,000, while exhibitor booths start at ₹2 Lakhs. The call for papers for the technical track closes on March 1, 2025. Industry participants are encouraged to submit proposals focusing on AI integration, actuator innovation, and ethical deployment frameworks.
