Bengaluru, India – The India Humanoid Robotics Summit 2024 has officially confirmed its agenda, centering on the debut of indigenous humanoid technology and fostering partnerships between domestic startups and global supply chain manufacturers. Scheduled for October 15-17 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), the three-day event will host over 50 robotics companies, with a dedicated pavilion for humanoid actuators and perception systems tailored for the Indian manufacturing sector.

BharatBots Unveils Arya-1 Developer Kit

The headline announcement comes from Bengaluru-based startup BharatBots, which will showcase the Arya-1, a general-purpose humanoid robot designed specifically for Indian industrial and service applications. The Arya-1 features a 30-degree-of-freedom articulated neck, a custom torque-dense joint module capable of 200Nm peak output, and a vision-language model optimized for regional languages.

Pricing and Availability for Indian Market

BharatBots has announced that the Arya-1 Developer Kit will be available for ₹25 Lakhs. The company aims to ship the first batch of 50 units to academic institutions and R&D labs across India by Q1 2025. A commercial deployment variant for logistics and hospitality is slated for ₹65 Lakhs, targeting the growing automation needs of India's tier-2 cities. The pricing strategy reflects a focus on making humanoid platforms accessible to local enterprises while maintaining competitive margins against imported alternatives.

Government Support and Supply Chain Localization

The summit aligns with the Indian government's push for "Atmanirbhar Bharat" in high-tech manufacturing. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will release a new grant framework for humanoid R&D during the event. Keynote sessions will address the localization of harmonic drives and force-sensing resistors, critical components currently imported. Experts will discuss incentives for domestic production of gearboxes and controllers to reduce dependency on foreign supply chains.

Exhibitor Lineup and Technical Workshops

Beyond the Arya-1, the expo will feature live demonstrations of collaborative manipulators and AGVs.
