Stellar Robotics Secures $15 Million Series A to Scale Indian Humanoid Manufacturing Solutions - RobotWale News
Indian Humanoid Startup Stellar Robotics Closes Major Funding Round
Bengaluru-based robotics startup Stellar Robotics has successfully closed a $15 million Series A funding round, marking a significant milestone for India’s growing humanoid robotics sector. The funding, led by prominent venture capital firms including Accel and Sequoia India, will accelerate the commercialization of the company’s humanoid robot prototype designed specifically for Indian manufacturing industries.
Product Launch and Pricing
The startup unveiled its first commercial humanoid robot, the “Stellar-Alpha,” which is engineered to handle repetitive tasks in automotive and electronics assembly lines. Unlike high-cost international competitors priced above $100,000, the Stellar-Alpha is positioned at a disruptive price point of approximately ₹25 lakhs ($30,000), making it accessible for small and medium enterprises in India.
CEO and co-founder Arjun Das stated in a press release that this pricing strategy aims to democratize automation across India’s industrial belt. The robot features advanced computer vision and torque-controlled actuators, allowing it to navigate complex factory environments safely alongside human workers.
Industry Impact and Future Roadmap
The funding comes at a critical time as the Indian government pushes for increased automation under the “Make in India” initiative. Stellar Robotics plans to utilize the capital to set up a new R&D facility in Hyderabad and establish pilot partnerships with two major automobile manufacturers in Tamil Nadu.
Analysts suggest that affordable humanoid robots could transform India’s labor-intensive manufacturing sector, which employs millions. With the new capital, Stellar Robotics aims to achieve a production capacity of 50 units per month by the end of 2024.
Market Outlook
Stellar Robotics is not the only player witnessing growth. The Indian humanoid robotics market is projected to reach $500 million by 2027, driven by startups focusing on localized solutions. The capital injection into Stellar Robotics signals strong investor confidence in India’s deep-tech ecosystem.
The company expects to deploy its first 10 units to partner factories within the next quarter, demonstrating the practical viability of humanoid automation in the Indian context.
