In parallel with global developments, India’s humanoid robotics sector is gaining structural momentum. Nakshatra Robotics, a New Delhi-based deep-tech startup, announced a ₹45 crore funding round led by domestic venture capital firms in September 2024. The capital will be directed toward scaling pilot programs in automotive and electronics manufacturing hubs across Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The convergence of global commercialization and localized cost reduction signals a pivotal shift in the humanoid robotics landscape. While Western manufacturers prioritize advanced AI integration and dexterity, Indian developers are focusing on durability, repairability, and price accessibility for mass adoption. Early performance data from Figure 02 deployments indicates a 92% task completion rate in controlled environments, though edge-case navigation remains a challenge. For Indian MSMEs, the proposed pricing structure makes humanoid automation financially viable within 24 to 36 months of operation.
