Bengaluru Hosts Inaugural Humanoid Robotics Summit & Expo

India’s first dedicated Humanoid Robotics Summit & Expo took place from March 12 to 14, 2025, at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre. Organized by the Robotics Society of India in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the three-day event attracted over 50 global manufacturers, 120 domestic startups, and more than 10,000 industry professionals. The expo served as a central hub for live demonstrations, technical workshops, and B2B networking focused specifically on bipedal and quadrupedal humanoid platforms. Delegates toured a 15,000-square-meter exhibition floor featuring real-time motion control trials, torque sensor demonstrations, and autonomous navigation tests.

Domestic Launches and India-Focused Pricing

Several Indian robotics firms unveiled commercially viable humanoid platforms tailored for local manufacturing and deployment. Bengaluru-based Aether Robotics introduced the Aether-H1, a 65kg general-purpose humanoid robot designed for warehouse automation and last-mile logistics. The unit features a custom Indian-developed joint actuator and is priced at ₹28.5 lakh for domestic buyers, with a full production rollout expected by Q4 2025. Similarly, Pune-based KinetiX Dynamics showcased the KX-Alpha, an educational and research-focused humanoid priced at ₹12 lakh, alongside a subscription-based AI tutoring module for ₹9,500 per month. International exhibitors, including Boston Dynamics, Figure AI, and Agility Robotics, displayed their latest prototypes and announced localized assembly partnerships with Indian contract manufacturers to reduce import duties and accelerate supply chains. These collaborations aim to position India as a low-cost assembly hub for the global humanoid market.

Industry Impact and Future Exhibitions

Government officials highlighted the event as a direct outcome of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for advanced robotics, which allocates ₹6,000 crore to domestic humanoid and collaborative robot manufacturing. Keynote sessions covered regulatory frameworks, safety standards for human-robot interaction, and workforce transition strategies for the Indian industrial sector. The organizing committee confirmed that the 2026 edition will expand to include a dedicated AI navigation pavilion and a manufacturing pilot zone. Registration for the next summit is scheduled to open in September 2025, with early-bird passes starting at ₹2,500 for students and ₹7,500 for corporate delegates.
